Mircea Geoana, the President of the Romanian Senate, paid a visit to Mioveni industrial site on Thursday, 19th of November.
At the end of the visit, Mr. Geoana appreciated the investment program in human resources from Dacia: “I would like to point out that at present there is an investment program in human resources at Dacia, which I would say is unprecedented in Romania. More than one million training hours for those who work in this plant. And I think that the development of infrastructure and the investments in people represent the key to success for the years to come.”

Geoana considers that Dacia Logan, the first model that revolutionized the market of low-cost vehicles is, at the same time, “Romania’s first industrial brand”: “What Dacia proves is that the Romanian industry has potential (…) Our country has never had a technological brand with which we could have come out on the international stage and that might prove that Romania is not a backward country, but a country with technological and technical know-how.”

Questioned by the journalists at the end of the visit whether he would buy a Dacia car for himself, Mircea Geoana declared that he was looking forward to the new SUV - which is to be manufactured at Mioveni - and that he was convinced of the success the SUV would have on both the domestic and international market.
