Thank you for having accepted our invitation to come here and share with us a hopefully agreeable evening in the Dacia - Renault - Nissan universe, hosted by the International Car Show in Bucharest.

The presence here of our three brands shows the importance we give to Romania:
  • commercially, to Dacia, the number 1 brand and producer
  • to Renault, the most imported car brand
  • and to Nissan, whose sales exceeded 135,000 cars in 2005 thus making Romania rank sixth on the Renault market, after France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy

We give an equal importance to Romania in industrial terms, and to Pitesti, with:
  • an assembly facility whose capacity will be upped to 235,000 vehicles per year in 2006
  • a powertrain plant
  • an International Logistics Network able to feed the Logan-assembling facilities in Morocco, Columbia, Russia, to be followed soon by Iran, India and Brazil
  • in 2008, a gearbox plant able to meet the needs of the Renault-Nissan Alliance
Romania`s new role of major industrial actor in the alliance is also due to the suppliers.

Next year, the ILN centre will ship, to our assembling sites abroad, the components for 150,000 Logan, most of which are made in Romania.

We were the first to believe in Romania: in its market potential, but most of all in its industrial, technical and human potential.

Today, history shows that the Renault Group made a good choice with respect to Romania, to Dacia, to the Logan.

Dacia has become the second brand of the Renault Group, and Romanians "voted" Dacia, which the Logan turned into a brand of international reach, marketed in 29 countries today, 42 countries at the end of the year, through a network of 1,200 Dacia dealers worldwide, also thanks to the support given by the Renault dealers` network.

Dacia Logan has become a true ambassador of Romania, of its industrial expertise and of the quality and drive of its people.

Romania is playing and will continue to play a critical role in the growth strategy of the Renault - Nissan Alliance.

We will continue to invest:
  • In developing the commercial presence of our three brands
  • In the Romanian industrial equipment: we have already invested Euro 650 million and will further allocate Euro 150 million next year, not to mention the investments in the gearbox plant
  • But also in training and developing the expertise of the Dacia - Renault - Nissan employees in Romania, who make our success possible and to whom I dedicate our present success
