The competition, held on the launch of the "Car" magazine in Romania, joined six design students from Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, selected by the RDCE designers. On the 19th of November, the six competitors worked on the project entitled "The Dacia Logan in the year 2020", at the RDCE headquarters, under the surveillance of the RDCE designers. The winner was selected by a jury made of Philippe Ponceau, general manager of the RDCE, Emmanuel Klissarov, designer, Ana Zadnik, designer and the editor in chief of "Car" magazine, and Daniel Costea, journalist. Creativity, graphic quality and the innovating character of the competitor’s creation were the fundamental criteria that decided the winner. The prize is a visit to the Technocentre design centre in Paris; the young designer’s winning project will be published in the February edition of "Car" magazine. Alexandra Ciobanu (aged 21) was born in Piatra Neamt; she is a third-year design student at the "Ion Andreescu" Faculty of Plastic Arts and Design from Cluj-Napoca. Initially drawn to the textile art, Alexandra discovered her passion for car design in the 11th grade. Her project, "Octopus", drew on two sources of inspiration – zoology and environment protection. Alexandra’s prototype reminds of an aquatic vehicle taken from SF novels, it runs on water and its propulsion system is based on electrolysis. She confessed she was interested in the study of organic forms, animals in particular, which she observes during her visits to biology, zoology and natural science museums. The "Car" magazine is the Romanian version of the most lasting and most famous monthly car magazine in Great Britain, Brazil, China, Greece, India, Italy, Mexico, Middle East, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, Germany and, more recently, Romania. By means of its communications channels, "Car" interacts with more than 600.000 consumers each month. "Car" magazine is brought on the Romanian market by the D.V. Automedia press trust, one of the most important car press trusts on the market. Located at 30 km from the French capital, Technocentre Renault groups over 120.000 employees on a surface of approximately 150 hectares. The Centres regroups various activities in the field of car design, and offers Renault specialists a most varied range of equipment and instruments: real size 3D simulator, modelling mechanisms, test and ultrasound control equipment, RMN, microscopy, etc. Ti-a placut acest articol?
