• Renault Design Central Europe becomes the first car design centre in Romania. Its mission is to develop vehicles addressing various markets of the Renault Group and to take part in such projects, from the conception phase to the final version of a car model. On Friday, 30th 2008, in the presence of the Romanian PM, Calin Popescu Tariceanu, Renault inaugurated the first design centre in Romania. The design centre was created in September 2007 and now comprises a local team of 5 designers and 4 numerical model designers, of six different nationalities: Romanian, Canadian, Bulgarian, Russian, Slovenian and French. The team is completed by 2 experts in charge with developing Perceived Quality actions, in collaboration with the engineering and design centres. The design centre may count as many as 30 employees by 2009. The Centre’s main missions are: - to collaborate with the Renault Technologie Roumanie design centre; - to participate to in-company competitions, alongside Technocentre and the other design centres around the world that aim to develop Renault Group projects; - to develop after-sale products and to guarantee their quality; - to develop action on Perceived Quality in collaboration with the engineering. "Renault Design Central Europe contributes to projects belonging to the Renault Group just as the other design centres within our network ("Design Network"). Just as the latter, the Bucharest design centre helps us integrate local trends, particularly through design and architecture schools. It will play an essential part in meeting our clients’ expectations." says Patrick Le Quement, Industrial Design Director for Renault. The Bucharest design team is currently working on projects aiming to replace the Logan model and several of its derived models, as well as on projects for the two brands: Renault and Dacia Ti-a placut acest articol?
